About Us What Makes Us Different?
What Makes Us Different? Mitchell Wilde LLP was formed in 2005 by Paul Mitchell and David Wilde. Both of us had been solicitors for over 20 years. Both of us had been partners in long-established firms of solicitors. Why set up a new firm? We believed that there was a growing gap in the provision of legal advice for small and medium sized businesses. Increasing specialization has led to some large commercial firms of solicitors, offering specialist expertise, but focused on very large companies and sometimes expensive and impersonal. Traditional high street firms covering the whole range of legal work are sometimes not familiar with the specific requirements of business, or unable to advise on some areas that particular businesses may find important. And both types of firm have tended to lose the traditional long-term personal relationship between solicitor and client. We wanted to be different. Our aim is to fill that gap by offering a service focused on small and medium sized businesses and their owners. That is not to say that we do not act for large organizations – we already act for subsidiaries of two large groups who appreciate the personal service that we can offer. We believe that we can provide most of the services that a business will need, and if we cannot do so we will say so. As a small firm we can offer personal contact to our clients rather than passing them around departments. And by building up long term relationships with our clients we are better placed to provide advice that is relevant and matches the client’s needs. Modern technology allows us to have many of the advantages of a larger firm whilst remaining personal, flexible and cost-effective. Most of all it also allows us to focus on what we do best – helping our clients. |
